“nelly may is a must ”

OMG the breakfast has got so much flavour, it’s cooked to perfection. the bread is homemade on the premises with sourdough, which is full of flavour. The orange and parsnip cake was out this world. Also the warm spicy apple sponge, my sister described as heaven in a bowl.

“Wonderful Cream Tea”

A lovely little café, we stopped in here for a cream tea. The scones were amazing and huge! You can tell they were freshly baked. I loved the lavender and strawberry jam. The teapot had a cute tea cosy on it. The whole feel of the place was very comfortable and quaint and I loved the décor.

“A Fabulous place to eat and drink”

We were attracted to Nelly May`s Parlour from the outside and when we went inside we were immediately made to feel comfortable. It`s very cosy inside and clean. The fresh, warm homemade scones were delicious. There was a choice of jams, I had strawberry and lavender.

Nelly May window display

Beatrix Potter

In keeping with the Beatrix Potter theme at this year’s Ilfracombe festival, we have decorated our window with some well known characters. We like to keep our fresh and regularly change it to suit the season or local events and as there is always lots going on in Ilfracombe it gets changed quite a lot.

Let us know if you have a favourire window display or have any suggestions for future ones.

Organic Sourdough Toastie

Organic Toastie

Baking our own Artisan Sourdough bread is something we have done for some time here at Nelly May’s but we are now looking for new and creative ways to use the bread. Our Organic Sourdough Toastie has been really popular but we are thinking our new Sourdough Pizza slices might just beat them to the top.

Ginger and Parsnip cake

Ginger and Parsnip cake

If you can make a cake using carrots, why not parsnips? This is our Ginger and Parsnip cake. Deliciously soft and tasty with a unique flavour that went down so well with our customers that we will be baking more in future.
